WWE 2017 Latest News & Update: Hardy Boys Leave TNA, Vince McMahon Interested In Former Tag Champions
Matt and Jeff Hardy are familiar names in the wrestling world, and were at a time, stars in the WWE brand. Both have moved on since, flourishing under rival company Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling. There was growing belief before that the two may come to the WWE though both had no reason with the luxury they enjoyed TNA.
That was until recently when the two stars stumbled with contract issues. Compared to the original pact that both sides got late last year, changes were reportedly made, Wrestling Inc. reported. Among the changes include new clauses where talents could perform outside the TNA circle with approval from the company. Also, 10-percent of the earnings were to go to the company.
The contracts for Matt and Jeff Hardy cropped up several weeks ago with delays blamed on the change in management. Among the new people on board include the returning Jeff Jarrett. There is no confirmation as of this writing if Jarrett had a hand in the appended deals. Matt Hardy tweeted that he was departing from TNA, a surprise announcement considering the successful reinvention of himself as the “Broken” one.
Hardy had the creative freedom on shows, something that helped in the rebuilding of his persona. Unless something out of the ordinary happens, Matt and Jeff Hardy are expected to prowl the independent scene. A return stint with the WWE could happen considering Vince McMahon and company have been pursuing the two in the past.
The only problem is that the former WWE tag champions will have to adjust and console themselves with the financial package the WWE has to offer. Former stars opted to hook up independently, claiming they earned more, Forbes reported. Looking ahead, Matt and Jeff Hardy could be neat additions if both parties come up with something amicable. Wrestlemania 33 is fast approaching so seeing them back could be a big treat for WWE fans.
