Parenting books are generally written in good intentions. However, some parenting experts are reluctant to let mothers go through all those pages.

Parenting books cover every issues parent are concerned about - picky eaters, tantrums, sleep problems and sleep. Each book offers different solution for every problem.

But the reality is that kids are kids. Each kid is unique and they have their own attitude. Though parenting books offer some tips, especially for new parents, it may have a negative effect on their self-esteem.

Parenting expert Nanny Robina said that first time mom who reads so many books may doubt herself. Parents should not over-analyse their personal techniques and keep on asking if their parenting skill is good enough.

As it is, parents are doing their best with skills they have. Some experts believe in parenting using intuition. "They forget to follow their gut instinct. They automatically switch off when the help is coming from somewhere else," Robina said in a report by Huffington Post.

Parents will find that they will mess up once in a while in their parenting, no matter how many parenting books they will read. Parenting experts believe that there is no cookie-cutter approach to parenting. The more important things in parenting are firmness, kindness and unconditional love.

Learning to tune in to the children is a good way parenting skill. Parents should learn to put down their device and those parenting books. Parents in the past did not have tons of books, blogs or forums to guide them in their parenting journey.

Robina also said that simply giving the best to the child is the best parenting skill there is. Parents need to learn from their mistakes, and it is a trial and error. "Learning what works and what don't work will make you a great parent," she added.
