The Gallup-Healthways State of American Well-Being 2016 Community Rankings has named Naples, Florida as the healthiest and happiest cities in the United States. The US Healthiest List was released last Tuesday, March 7, 2017.

The data was gathered after measuring how the US cities feel about their physical health, social ties, community, sense of purpose, and financial security in all the 189 cities in the United States. Naples, Florida landed on the first spot after being named as the top city in the US' healthiest list. Boulder in Colorado and Provo-Orem in Utah were the two other US cities who have managed to be named as the No. 1 city in the US when it comes to healthy and happiness, ever since the rankings began in 2008, as reported by Today.

Dan Witters, Research Director of the Gallup-Healthways Well-Beng Index, the group responsible for the US Healthiest List, revealed that Naples has "muscled its way past" all the other top-ranked metropolitan areas by showing high-scores all throughout the categories of the research.

Last February, Time released a list of the top 10 US cities that has the highest rate of happiness and well-being. Hawaii landed on the first spot followed by Alaska, South Dakota, Maine, Colorado, Vermont, Arizona, Montana, Minnesota, and on the 10th spot, Texas. The poll was also lead by The Gallup-Healthways State of American Well-Being.

People in Naples, Florida were taking care of themselves well, thus landing on the top spot of the US Healthiest list. Residents in the city were in good physical health, enjoying good relationships within and outside their community and loves what they do every day. Although their personal income average was not as high as compared the other US cities, their location near the beach is a significant contributor as to why they consider a happy and healthy life living in Naples.

Following Naples in the list was Barnstable Town, Massachusetts followed by Santa Cruz-Watsonville, California, Honolulu, Hawaii, Charlottesville, Virginia, North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida, San Luis Obispo-Paso Robles, California, Lynchburg, Virginia, Hilton Head Island-Bluffton-Beaufort, South Carolina, and lastly Boulder, Colorado on the tenth place.
