Brandon Marshall, formerly of the New York Jets has moved to a new team. But the move is nearer than most people would expect after his release from the Jets.

He stays in New York City and has signed up with the New York Giants for $12 million even before the free agency market negotiations in the NFL officially started. He has released a photo of his contract on social media (via NFL).

Brandon Marshall stays in the city he loves. He just moved training days because the Jets and the Giants share the Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Jets released Brandon Marshall after he personally requested for it but they also agreed that Marshall may opt to sign again with them the next season.

According to ESPN, the Jets are in a quest to rebuild this upcoming season but the move is widely seen as a way to remove players with significant salaries to ease the salary cap. The Jets are reported to have saved $7.5 million from his release. Brandon Marshall took to social media again after his release to apologize to hardcore Jet fans for the move and wished his former team well.

Brandon Marshall has played 11 seasons in the NFL but has yet to reach the post-season. He is one of the most-traveled players in the league playing for the Denver Broncos, the Miami Dolphins, the Chicago Bears and the Jets.

He now moves to a team that possibly can give him what he needs to win a championship. He is considered as one of the most productive players in his position in terms of catches and receiving yards. His numbers have dipped in his stay with the Jets partly attributed to poor plays called by the quarterback.
