'Mr. Robot' Season 3: USA Announces 10 Episodes Moved To Fall, Retains Sam Esmail As Director

Following a slow second season from USA breakout series "Mr. Robot," Sam Esmail and the rest of the production team are taking their time creating "Mr. Robot" Season 3. USA announces 10 episodes moved to fall instead of the usual summer release, giving the series enough time to breathe and come back with a stronger third season.

According to Entertainment Weekly, NBCUniversalCable chief content officer Jeff Wachtel promised a third season that will "engage viewers in a whole new way, with Sam and team continuing to find ways to surprise, challenge and delight the audience." "Mr. Robot" Season 3 will also see the addition of Bobby Cannavale as a major new cast member. Cannavale, who appeared in "Boardwalk Empire" and "Vinyl" will play a "no non-sense car salesman," but no further details has been unveiled on what storylines he will be participating in in "Mr. Robot" Season 3. The series retains Sam Esmail as director, Collider reported. Production will begin this Apr. for an Oct. release date.

"Mr. Robot" Season 3 will be 10 episodes long, and will bring back Rami Malek, Christian Slater, Portia Doubleday, and Carly Chaikin as the main cast. Also featured in the third season is a now series regular is BD Wong, who plays the role of Whiterose, the Dark Army's leader.
