Tyra Banks Is New Host Of America's Got Talent; Find Out Why She Is Perfect For The Job
Tyra Banks now takes over the hosting chores in the twelfth season of America's Got Talent. This development comes as Nick Cannon has opted not to renew with NBC and was announced on Twitter by one of the show's judges, Howie Mandel.

Nick Cannon officially gave up the hosting stint after he claimed that NBC had threatened to fire him. The Huffington Post pinpoints to a joke that didn't sit well with the network as the culprit in their spat. Cannon made the joke during his performance on Stand Up, Don't Shoot, a Showtime comedy special.
Tyra Banks is definitely on top of her game. Fremantle North America, the show's producer agrees as they describe her as the complete package. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she is the CEO of The Tyra Banks Co., and Fierce Capital, a financial company that invests in start-ups that focus on women. She was the creator and executive producer of America's Next Top Model and for a while hosted her own talk show. Tyra Banks was also set to be a lecturer for an MBA course in Stanford.
Reports have surfaced that Tyra Banks was not even part of the original shortlist. After the move by Nick Cannon, the show's producers have been hard at work to look for a replacement. The top three names that have been floated were that of Michael Wayans, Brandon Mychal Smith, and Tone Bell. Tyra Banks got the nod after the talks with other prospects broke down over pay issues and availability.
Tyra Banks is raring to start but the taping for the show has been delayed for a few weeks as Mel B had a death in the family. She will be the fourth host of the show in 12 seasons.
