Timberwolves Sizzle Vs Wizards; Find Out Why Experts Think They're Not Ready For Playoffs [VIDEO]

The Minnesota Timberwolves has just stopped the Washington Wizards hot streak Monday night. This was behind the heroics of Karl-Anthony Towns and the impressive assists from Ricky Rubio. Towns and coach Tom Thibodeau picked up technical fouls though for arguing with the referees about supposed non-calls. The Timberwolves scored 119 points versus the Wizard's 104.

What the Timberwolves have done has been nothing short of remarkable. SB Nation reports that they have won seven out of their last 10 games and these opponents weren't pushovers. The Timberwolves' list of latest victims includes the Golden State Warriors, the Clippers and the Utah Jazz.

Right now Ricky Rubio has been playing great. He has even held his own against the best point guards in the league. The stats in their home game wins versus the Clippers and the Warriors showed that he had gotten the better of the likes of Chris Paul and Stephen Curry.

Other players have been impressive as well. Towns were named as the West's player of the week recording 29 points and 12.3 rebounds on the average.

These stats have all but impressed basketball pundits. USA Today notes that while the key players are averaging great in games, they might have dug too deep in a bracket that is too shallow. They are now three and a half games behind the Denver Nuggets and it looks as if they are not going to make the postseason with just 16 more games to go remaining the regular NBA season.

The next few games of the Timberwolves will be very tough. They will play the Boston Celtics, then the Miami Heat. They will also take on the New Orleans Pelicans, San Antonio Spurs and the Portland Trailblazers. But we can never count out the Minnesota Timberwolves and what Coach Tom Thibodeau can cook up.
