One of "Justice League"'s most anticipated spin-offs is the Jason Momoa film, "Aquaman," which was slated to arrive in theaters in Oct. 2018. However, the Warner Bros. film's release date has been moved to Dec. 2018 instead. It is being directed by James Wan.

Why Was The Release Moved?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Jason Momoa film release date moving to Dec. 2018 doesn't mean that there has been any problems shooting the film. In fact, Entertainment Weekly reported that the holiday release for the film indicates that the studio is confident that it will be a success. "Aquaman" will now go up against Sony's animated "Spider-Man" movie, not to be confused with Marvel's "Spider-Man: Homecoming," which stars Tom Holland.

The original release date for "Aquaman" was Oct. 5, 2018, which is also the release date for "The Girl in the Spider's Web," which will now be directed by Fede Alvarez. "Aquaman" stars Jason Momoa in the titular role, which audiences already got a taste of in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." Fans will see him as the hero again this year when "Justice League" hits theaters in Nov.

Other Jason Momoa Project Lined Up?

Meanwhile, as the Jason Momoa film release date was moved to Dec. 2018, the actor will also be busy playing Rico Rodriguez in the upcoming film adaptation of the Square Enix game, "Just Cause." Deadline reported that the film will be directed by Brad Peyton, who "Aquaman" star Jason Momoa has worked with in the past.

"Aquaman" will now hit theaters on Dec. 21, 2018. The film also stars Nicole Kidman, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Temuera Morrison.
