Tom Hanks Concentrates On Producing HBO Series On US Presidential Election 2016
An HBO miniseries will be produced by Tom Hanks, based on the touchy 2016 US presidential campaign between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. However, the casting of the miniseries is yet to be announced.
The Tom Hanks miniseries is bound to be encircled with controversy, due to mainly two reasons. Some segments of United States’ citizens are often seen raising campaigns against Donald Trump and secondly, he is not much a favorite person among Hollywood elites.
The upcoming Tom Hanks series will be based on the book yet to be published by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann. Mark Halperin and John Heilemann are also known for producing “The Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth.” “Game Change” director Jay Roach, has already been tasked to wheel the new dramatic HBO series.
Tom Hanks Series Will Show Unique Event In Modern American Politics
The “Toy Story” director, Tom Hanks had previously worked with HBO for producing “Band of Brothers” and “The Pacific.” This new series will reinforce his existing close relationship with the channel.
In an interview, Len Amato, president of HBO films stated that the series will “vividly capture the most unique and impactful event in modern American politics,” as reported by Greek Hollywood Reporter.
Audiences may anticipate a number of TV and film works concerning the 2016 election and Trump’s surprise win to come out shortly, as well as a competing miniseries by the makers of “Zero Dark Thirty,” and an election focus for the new season of “American Horror Story.” The Tom Hanks series has been chosen for a second season and is all set to focus on Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office.
“As great as Alec Baldwin is, the idea behind this is less caricature, and more interesting dramatic portrayal that's not a cartoonish caricature,” Mark Halperin said in a conversation with The New York Times.
