'Mission Impossible 6' Release Date, News: 'Man of Steel' Star Henry Cavill Joins Tom Cruise In 2018 Action Flick
There's quite a long while to wait before "Mission Impossible 6" arrives to the big screen, but the film is already generating buzz, especially with the addition of "Man of Steel" star, Henry Cavill to the Tom Cruise 2018 action flick. The news broke out when filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie took to Instagram to extend an invitation to Cavill for a role in "Mission Impossible 6," which the actor promptly accepted.
What It Takes to Play the Role
The latest from Entertainment Weekly revealed that "Mission Impossible 6" director Christopher McQuarrie had a few requirements for the role in the 2018 action flick: "must enjoy extreme heights, high speeds, motor vehicles of all varieties (especially aircraft), practical stunts, firearms, and sporadic exposition." "Man of Steel" star, Henry Cavill of course acquiesced, writing, "I"m in!" Check out the social media post below.

"Mission Impossible 6" will see the return of Christopher McQuarrie in the role of the director, with Tom Cruise also returning as the iconic Ethan Hunt. The script was written by McQuarrie, and Cruise will be joined by Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust and Jeremy Renner as William Brandt. McQuarrie also joins a panel of producers, including Cruise, Don Granger, J.J. Abrams, and David Ellison and Dana Goldberg of Skydance Productions, as per Deadline.
"Mission Impossible 6," will hit theaters on July 27, 2018. The film is preceded by "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, which was released in July 2015 and earned over $680 million on a $150 million budget. Production remains tight lipped on the plot of the film.

As "Mission Impossible 6" welcomes its newest cast addition, Henry Cavill, moviegoers are also excited to see the actor's appearance in this year's "Justice League," which arrives on Nov. 17. He's also starring in the upcoming British war drama "Sand Castle," which will debut on Netflix this Apr. 21.
