Selena Gomez And The Weeknd Relationship: Disney Star Opens Up About Tough Times
Selena Gomez talks about the happiest moment of her career, way before social media "ruined" everything for her and every other girl who has felt what she has felt. She then talks about how today’s social media could ruin a person with everything that it implies.
It has been confirmed that Selena Gomez is currently the most followed person on Instagram, being the first ever to reach 100 million followers a few months back. She now has 114 million followers to date, and is one of the most famous icons on television. However, before social media ever took over the lives of everyone in the world.
Selena Gomez Recalls Simpler Life
Selena Gomez claimed that she was at her happiest when she was filming for Disney’s “Wizards of Waverly Place,” wherein she would come in, do a live taping and make everyone happy as reported by AOL. Twitter has just begun at the time and it felt like it was such a simpler moment.
However, she admitted that it is hard to stay away from social media once in a while, and even added that she deletes the app every week when she starts to fixate on the negative comments. “It’s like they want to cut your soul,” was what she said when describing about all those hateful comments she and anyone gets on the internet, according to ABC News.
Gomez Not Excused From Negativity
She also would like to try more roles that "really matter," aside from the usual princess movies that she has been in, but believes that she may still just look too young and might be difficult for people to grasp. Apparently, she is not excused in facing difficult times in real life despite her success.
Thus, she opted to produce a new series on Netflix entitled “13 Reasons Why,” which she claims to hit close to home for her, given the storyline and what she has recently been through. Selena Gomez checked herself into rehab late last year, as she struggled through depression and had a mental breakdown and she believes that this upcoming production could tell a lot about those people struggling with it, and how they could help themselves get through it.
