According to a report from THe Mirror, Mel B ended her tumultuous marriage to Stephen Belafonte before they entered their 10th anniversary, as a couple, stopping him from spending her money for life.
It is stated under the California law, that the government can grant innumerable spousal allowance if a couple has been espoused for more than 10 years, which could have put Mel's £40 million wealth at jeopardy.

The estranged couple took a tremendous action Wednesday (Mar. 22) to ratchet down the hostility in their divorce. They brought their children to a psychological therapy session, as reported by TMZ 

The ex-couple went separately to Mulholland Estates, to the home of Dr. Charles Sophy, Mel's longtime psychiatrist. Sophy is a well-known medical expert in Hollywood, attending various celebs.

He was a big part of the Michael Jackson molestation case. This was the first session for the kids of Mel B and Stephen Belafonte. The estranged husband and wife really wanted to ensure the welfare of their children even though they are divorcing.
