The highly anticipated sixth installment of the franchise that Tom Cruise may be best known for has added another familiar face to its cast. "Sherlock" actress Sian Brooke is the latest cast addition in "Mission: Impossible 6," which is slated to arrive in July. Sian Brooke may be familiar to TV viewers from her role in BBC's "Sherlock" as Sherlock Holmes' sister.

Latest Addition To Cruise Starrer

According to Variety, "Sherlock" actress Sian Brooke is the latest cast addition in 2018 Tom Cruise flick, which will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who also directed "M:I5." Recently, news broke out that "Man of Steel" and "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" star, Henry Cavill also joined the cast of "Mission: Impossible 6," thanks to McQuarrie, who took to Instagram to make the announcement.

As of now, there's no word yet on what character "Sherlock" actress Sian Brooke will play in "Mission: Impossible 6," but it is said to be a "key role." Sian Brooke's other notable credits include those in the TV series "All About George," "Cape Wrath," "Lewis," and "Not Safe for Work." She has also graced the stage on several occasions, for productions such as "In the Club," "Reasons to Be Pretty," and "Hamlet," together with "Doctor Strange" and "Sherlock" star, Benedict Cumberbatch.

Cruise Has Casting Preference?

According to Screenrant, Tom Cruise has a preference for "strong actors who bring a lot to the table," and "Sherlock" actress Sian Brooke is definitely one of them. She's experienced in both stage, television, and film, and is now the latest cast addition in the 2018 Tom Cruise flick, "Mission: Impossible 6." Other notable actors who have been part of the massive franchise include Anthony Hopkins, Alec Baldwin, and Jean Reno, among others. "Mission: Impossible 6" is set to arrive to theaters on July 27.
