Hockey is one of the most played sports in the country. The USA Women's hockey team is one of the most dominant sports team in the country as well.

Recently, the USA Women's hockey team has signed a deal that they will not boycott the championship game, despite the circumstances involving their salary. Let's get to know further details about the agreement.

The Deal Between USA Hockey And The Women's Hockey Team

USA Hockey and players for the U.S. women's national hockey team agreed Tuesday (Mar. 28), to a provisional four-year contract to avoid a boycott of the IIHF Women's World Championship. If the players accept the agreement, it would close their year - plus attempts to obtain greater salaries and additional support from USA Hockey association. The 23 athletes of the national team got the attention of their supporters when they declared last Mar. 15 that they planned to boycott the World Championship, as reported by USA Today.

Is Culture Change Needed To Give The Demands Of Women's Hockey Team?

In a report posted by Yahoo!, John Smallwood a journalist believes that the players from the women's hockey team are basically requesting for a higher salary from USA Hockey organization, since they don't have any other sports career or business as a fallback. This articulates to the pervasive idea that women apply the demand for equality as a method to get free things, stuff they don't deserve, or haven't worked for.

Meanwhile, according to other reports,The women's hockey team finally got what they deserved. Everyone on the team will receive a pre-bonus base compensation of $4,000 monthly, considerably higher than the previous wage of $6,000 annually.

They are now entitled to get $50 meal allowance, just like what the men's team gets. USA Hockey association also stated that there will be a committee that will handle the team and their needs and will conduct hockey training for the youth.
