"The Walking Dead" Season 7 finale revealed everything that fans expected and much more. Already, the show was on the brink of war as Rick was busy collecting artillery and army in the previous episode. Even Negan started preparing his counter attack.

In "The Walking Dead" Season 7 finale episode, Rick starts developing his army, whereas Negan includes two former Alexandrians in his counter-measures. These Alexandrians are none other than Sasha and Eugene, reports Entertainment Weekly. The show is a TV adaptation of the comic book and followed the original "All Out War" arc.

In the extended season-ender, the battle officially starts at Alexandria. "The Walking Dead" comics followed a storyline in which Holly aka Sasha was delivered by Negan to Alexandria in the coffin. However, when they opened the coffin, it was revealed that she was a zombie and instead attacked Negan. The following incidence was full of chaos and cruelty.

Now, "The Walking Dead" Season 7 finale episode did not follow this storyline. Instead, the episode starts with Sasha thinking in flashback about an intimate moment with Abraham who is now deceased. She recalls the moment when he took that infamous decision to accompany Maggie on the Hilltop that ultimately took his life.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 finale shows Sasha going through more such flashbacks about Maggie and Abraham and how she also lost her love, Glenn the same day. Elsewhere, Dwight manages to convince Daryl and Rick that he wants to help them defeat Negan and the Saviors. Morgan teams up with Carol, Shiva, and Ezekiel as they move towards Alexandria where Jadis plans to sleep with Rick.

Negan Declares War In The End

According to Variety, the final episode written by Angele Kang, Scott M. Gimple, and Matthew Negrete was not perfect but was fun and satisfying. "The Walking Dead" Season 7 finale episode ended, as Negan tells his Saviors at the Sanctuary that they are going to war. Eventually, Maggie and Jesus find zombie Sasha in the woods whereas Daryl gets a surprising message from Dwight.

The final shot of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 finale ended with Maggie remembering Glenn, as she holds his watch on the Hilltop.
