'Gotham' Season 3 Spoilers: 'Batman Returns' Homage And More DC Easter Eggs [VIDEO]
"Gotham" Season 3 just unveiled some updates on Bruce Wayne's Batman transformation and a "Batman Returns" homage. Check out the newest Easter eggs about your favorite DC characters.
"Gotham" just released the official trailer ahead of the premiere episode for the third installment of the series. "Gotham" Season 3 Episode 3 "How Riddler Got His Name" on Monday, Apr. 24, 2017 on FOX.
Riddler's Debut On "Gotham" Season 3
Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) works as a right-hand man of Cobbler (Robin Lord Taylor) since going AWOL on Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and the Gotham police department. However, it seems that a lot of things took a toll on their status in the underworld crime world. The last season ended with Edward, as his team goes against Cobbler who did not have a great endgame.
"How Riddler Got His Name" will then introduce Edward's alter-ego as The Riddler, Comic Book previously reported. The character, which Jim Carrey made popular in the movie version, is known for his love for riddles and puzzles. There is still no updates whether he will wear the question-filled body suit as part of his new wardrobe.
"Gotham" Season 3: Selina Resurrects As Catwoman?
According to TV Guide, the newest teaser trailer showed a glimpse of what happened to the young Selina (Camren Bicondova). She is seen lying unconsciously on the street, as several cats circled around her. The video likely paid some homage to Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman role from the 1999 film "Batman Returns."
This is the second time that the show added a familiar face from "Batman Returns" since The Riddler. However, it is not yet revealed if they will use the same versions of the mentioned characters.
Bruce Wayne As Batman Fights Ra's Al Ghul
The outlet further noted that fans might see Bruce Wayne's (David Mazouz) Batman transformation really soon. According to the clip, he declared that he does not want to fail if ever this is his true destiny.
However, it will not be an easy task for him since a fake version of himself is lurking around town. Just like adding fuel to the fire, the imposter will side with Batman villain, Ra's al Ghul (Alexander Siddig) and his Court of Owls.
The latest installment of the FOX series will also include the return of other Batman characters. Some of them are Firefly (Michelle Veintimilla), Mr. Freeze (Nathan Darrow), Poison Ivy (Maggie Geha), Hugo Strange (BD Wong), Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith), and even The Mad Hatter (Benedict Samuel).
"Gotham" Season 3 returns with "How The Riddler Got His Name." The show airs every Monday on FOX.
