'Carmen Sandiego' News, Cast And More Updates: Finn Wolfhard Joins Gina Rodriguez In Netflix Reboot [VIDEO]

Netflix just approved the adaptation of "Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?" Check out the latest details below.

The streaming service announced that they will indeed push through with the upcoming animated series. According to Tracking Board, the show will find some inspirations from the successful computer video games from the 1980s.

"Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?" Synopsis

The "Carmen Sandiego" reboot will have 20 episodes with a duration of 22 minutes each. These episodes will air in 2019.

This will be the latest adaptation for the successful franchise. The game previously several versions the game before they expanded to a TV show and a cartoon series. "Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?" features a first-person game where the player worked alongside the cops in order to find Carmen and her minions.

According to the synopsis, the Netflix adaptation will shed light on Carmen and her past life before working as a detective. It will also give some answers on her identity and the reason why she became the iconic villain. A new set of perpetrators will make it hard for the detective agency to find her.

Gina Rodriguez will take on the role of Carmen Sandiego in the animated series. Carmen is a former detective from A.C.M.E., who then became one of the well-known art thieves for the rival V.I.L.E group. It seems that Rodriguez felt excited over the announcement and gave some hints to her Twitter followers.

"Stranger Things" actor Finn Wolfhard will play as Player. The said character shared a strong connection with Carmen. E! Online speculates that Player is actually a "fourth wall-breaking" who will be the one playing the game starring Carmen.

The 14-year-old breakout star will come back for the "Stranger Things" Season 2. He is also part of the modern remake of Stephen King's "It" movie.

Duane Capizzie will act as the showrunner for the Netflix's "Carmen Sandiego." He will join CJ Kettler as the EPs for the show. The team will also include Production exec Caroline Fraser, visual designer Kevin Dart, and the Chromosphere Animation studio.
