Details On Awards' TV Broadcast
The National Basketball Association Awards show will also be broadcast on Turner Network Television (TNT). The league will also have categories where fans will be able to vote for their favorite players, possibly through social media like what they did for the All-Star Games.
The additional categories will be announced in the TNT show, "Inside the NBA" on Thursday, Apr. 27. With Canadian rap superstar Drake at the helm, the show is expected to be an entertainment extravaganza, Sports Illustrated reported.
Drake As Host
Choosing Drake to host the National Basketball Association Awards is a no-brainer. Drake has been the ambassador of the Toronto Raptors.
He also hosts "Drake Night" in Canada every year for the home team. He is also a yearly VIP spectator during the NBA All-Star Games. Drake was also a part of the Raptors rebranding and got the fans of the Canadian home team excited all over again with the "We The North" campaign.
The show will be produced by Dick Clark Productions. Performers for the awards show is yet to be announced but the league will surely pull out all the stops to make sure this will be a memorable inaugural show.
