'Guardians Of The Galaxy' 3 Plans Revealed: James Gunn Add New Marvel Team For Vol. 4 [VIDEO]

"Guardians of the Galaxy" 3 is happening soon. Marvel just teased the future of the "Guardians Of The Galaxy" movie franchise. Check out the latest updates below.

The movie follows the misadventures of Star-Lord AKA Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), as he joins an intergalactic superhero team. Aside from him, the group also include Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), and Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista). The first film, "Guardians of the Galaxy" Vol. 1, premiered in 2014, while the US release date for the sequel is on May 5, 2017.

James Gunn wrote and directed the first two movies, which became Marvel's instant blockbuster hits. Studio head Kevin Feige produced both films with Marvel and Walt Disney Motion Pictures.

Fresh from the worldwide premiere, Feige and Gunn had caught everyone's attention yet again. The creative duo recently revealed some hints about the franchise and the upcoming movies.

"Guardians Of The Galaxy 3" To Include A New Team?

First on the list is James Gunn, who shared that he will return as the writer and director for "Guardians of the Galaxy 3." He also shared details on the "three-part" arch featuring the modern team of comic superheroes. Several outlets are now speculating that fans will not see Star-Lord and the others for the fourth film.

Gunn told Toronto Sun, "It would not be the same group… basically, the story of this group ends with Vol. 3.” The Marvel hitmaker also hints on the bigger role that Sylvester Stallone's Stakar in the future.

Stakar came from the first version of the "Guardians of the Galaxy." His other team members are Aleta Ogord (Michelle Yeoh), Charlie-27 (Ving Rhames), Mainframe (Miley Cyrus), Martinex (Michael Rosenbaum), and Krugarr. They previously appeared in the last part of the second film.

Kevin Feige Speaks On The Future Of Upcoming Franchise Title

The Marvel president, on the other hand, shared his thoughts on what will happen to the long-running phases of MCU. He said that the franchise has been working on "The Avengers" arch, with "Infinity War" as its final flick. As a result, MCU has yet to announce the next step for the studio.

It seems that they found some possibilities with the help of Gunn, Feige told The Hollywood Reporter. The latter previously delved on his new role in expanding the franchise for a long time. He said that he will be part of the new "direction" that Marvel will take in the next ten years.

Feige also expressed his gratitude for Gunn's efforts in finding a common ground with the characters and their own universe. The head honcho said, "I think James, in particular, has an amazing connection with these characters and with this cosmic world."
