Denise Welch, who suffered the struggles of depression for 21 years has finally open up about her melancholy experiences. Welch even stated how afraid she was to tell her husband, Lincoln Townley about her struggles.
According to a recent report from Express UK, Denise Welch revealed how much she was scared to tell her husband that she has struggles with depression. It was reportedly the first time she admitted about how worried she was about the way Townley would respond about her depression.
Denise Welch Admits Depression To Husband
“When I met you, I had been living with clinical depression for 21 years," she said. “As I was falling for you, I wondered how you would deal with my episodes of depression, which can sometimes be quite frightening. I remember looking into your eyes when I was poorly, and seeing empathy and understanding.”
Welch can be seen talking to her husband in the film released by Heads Together. But, Welch was happy knowing that Lincoln would not leave her behind despite her struggles.
“You make it better just by being there," Welch stated, "and just by understanding, and I feel very lucky that I’ve got you and that you have got my back.
Welch felt that her depression can always rob her from communicating, but she knows her husband will always be there for her. According to her, talking about mental health is very important, as communication can change a person's life.
Techniques In Battling Depression
