Are 4000 hair grafts a lot?

Several factors can lead to transplanted hair, including issues with the hair follicles. The donor area of a person's scalp consists of over 6000 grafts that are available for hair transplantation.

Looking at it from the angle of a balding spot on the head, a type 5 person has ~ 200/cm2 separated into double parts of the same size; the front half and the hairline - 100/cm2; and the crown and the back half of the same size. The average number of grafts required by a human is between 2000 grafts to 6000 grafts. Four thousand grafts can be implanted at the front half while 2000 are implanted into the back half. The hair density after this process will be:

• 40 FU/cm² at the front half.

• 20 FU/cm² at the back half.

Patients with these measurements will appear to have full hairlines and front half, while the crown and the back half will have medium hair thinning. The density of hair depends on the bald area. While many donors need a minimum of 6000 grafts, some patients only need 4000 grafts.

The measurement of the front two-thirds is 120/cm². Experts advise that people should use about 4000 grafts for the front two-thirds.
