Fire Breaks Out in Russian Psychiatric Hospital kills all 38 People
A fire broke out at a psychiatric hospital near Moscow early Friday morning, killing at least 38 people, including 2 medical workers who were trapped inside, Russian Health Ministry officials told state-run news agency RIA Novosti.
According to the report, the fire began started shortly after 02:00 local time at the No 14 hospital in Ramenskiy village. Most of the victims are believed to be local patients. The death toll is early estimates and is speculated to rise.
The cause of the blaze is being investigated, with one report saying it was caused by a short circuit.
The identities of the bodies found have not yet been released.
A photograph on the website of the emergency services shows a building consumed by flames, according to the Associated Press.
