Witnessing a girl cry blood might feel like a supernatural scene from a movie, but for doctors in Chile, it is a case that has stunned them all. A 20-year-old woman from Chile sought medical care after she started crying blood at the beginning of this month. The patient, Yaritza Oliva, stated that she cries blood a few times a day, a condition that is indescribably painful.

After doctors failed to find an infection or other possible causes of the condition, Oliva was sent home with some eye drops. Now, her parents who do not have the financial means to get her a medical expert have started raising funds by asking for donations.

Health experts who have heard of Oliva's strange and rare condition believe that she might be suffering from haemolacria. Haemolacria is a rare condition that leads to bloody tears. This condition could be tied to an even more threatening health issue, such as tumors.

In 2009, a 15-year-old boy from Tennessee, United States, was diagnosed with haemolacria as well after bloody tears streamed from his eyes out of nowhere. He cried blood around three times a day. The teenager, Calvino Inman, stated that the pain felt like a burning sensation.

So far, due to the rarity of the cases, there is no known cure.
