Grandpa Finds Loaded Marijuana Pipe in Grandson's Burger King Kids Meal
A Michigan grandpa discovered a loaded marijuana pipe inside a Burger King Kids Meal he bought for his four-year-old grandson.
After getting his grandson from the local water park Tuesday evening, the boy's grandfather decided to stop by Burger King to get something to eat, according to police.
When the grandfather opened the Burger King Kids Meal box he discovered the pipe, which was stuffed with marijuana, and notified police.
Dudee Police Chief David Uhl said that a 23-year-old employee at the Burger King branch later admitted to storing the pipe in a box to hide it from his boss.
"So it ended up inside a 4-year-old's Kids Meal," Uhl told MonroeNews.com. "I couldn't believe it."
The boy's grandfather told police that he saw a young male employee running from the fast food chain. Afterwards, police noticed that the suspect had left his cell phone behind. Two of the suspect friends, ages 18 and 20, had called the phone to warn him that the police had arrived at the restaurant.
During the investigation, police tricked the employee's two friends into revealing that they were parked across the street, and a search of their car revealed more drug paraphernalia, according to the Daily News.
All three men were arrested on the scene and are awaiting charges.
Police said it is unclear how the pipe and marijuana ended up into the kid's meal packaging.
"He hid it somewhere in the store. We're not quite sure how it ended up in there," Uhl said, according to the Daily Mail. "Somehow, somebody picked it up and stuck it in there when they were packaging up the food. It is definitely strange."
