Survey Reveals America's Pickiest Cities

A new study reveals where the pickiest women live in America.

The study, which looked at more than 453,000 interactions of women between the ages of 18 and 99 on the dating website AYI.com, revealed that women living in New York City are the least likely in the country to reply to messages from prospective dates.

However, women from Jersey City, New Jersey are a lot less selective and a lot more eager when it comes to replying to messages, according to the Daily Mail.

Other cities that ranked high on the pickiness scale include Detroit, Minneapolis, Cincinnati and Los Angeles.

However, women who live in Miami, St Louis, Las Vegas and Portland, Oregon, are more likely to reply to messages from potential dates.

However, geography isn't the only thing that determines whether a woman will respond to a message.

The study also found that specific written pick-up lines men use can affect response rates. Standard lines like "Hi" and "What's up" are most likely to get rejected and ones that spark up a conversation like "Where are you from originally?" are most likely to get replies.

The study also found that women were 71 percent more likely to respond to people when they have at least one mutual friend on Facebook.

Surprisingly, the study found that women are three times more likely to respond to a younger man than men are to respond to younger women.
