Deciding on what to wear to a date? According to science, you should wear red and avoid yellow.

Women who are looking for boyfriends should wear red to maximize their chances. Single women should also avoid wearing clothes that are yellow or brown, because men are most turned off by these colors, according to Glamour Magazine.

Researchers also found that women are most turned off by men who wear colors like grey and pink. The study revealed that women are also turned off by yellow clothes.

The study, which involved a total of 1,128 women and 1,232 men from around the UK, revealed that a whopping 92 percent of respondents still remembered the outfit that their partner was wearing the first time they met them.

The study also revealed that 69 percent of men and 64 percent of women admitted that the color of the outfit had an impact on how much they were attracted to their dates.

When respondents were asked "If your current partner had been wearing a colors that you didn't really like when you first saw them, do you think it would have put you off them?" 38 percent of women and 27 percent of men answered "yes".

The survey revealed that 39 percent and 28 percent of men voted yellow and brown as colors that would most likely turn them off.  The survey also revealed that 38 percent and 31 percent of women are turned off by men who wear pink and yellow outfits, according to the Daily Mail.

"Whilst it may well be considered fickle to base the odds of a second date with someone on the color they choose to wear upon an initial meeting, the fact is that we make our primary assessments of potential partners extremely quickly," said George Charles of vouchercodespro.co.uk, who commissioned the research, according to the Daily Mail.

"It is human nature to want to find faults and imperfections within these individuals in order to protect ourselves from hurt later down the road," he explained.

"It therefore makes sense that before you really get to know someone, fashion sense, and in particular, clothing color choice, is one of the first things the brain will notice and evaluate for later analysis of a rendezvous," he added.
