Despite being in a hospital setting, one expecting dad from Florida was forced to help his wife deliver their baby without any medical professionals present. According to the father, Zaheer Ali, who is an information-technology professional for Broward County, the hospital staff deserted them despite his wife's cries and before they knew it, the baby was ready to come out.

"My wife was screaming," Ali told the Palm Beach Post according to FOX News. "The nurse says, 'You have to wait.'"

According to the report, Ali brought his wife, Indira to the Bethesda Hospital East located in Boynton Beach, FL. They arrived at the hospital late Saturday evenings after Indira felt contractions starting. The doctor examined her and reported that the labor was stalled and ordered a Pitocin drip, which is supposed to increase her contractions. Once Indira's contractions started to speed up, her obstetrician, Dr. Elana Deutsch stated that she had ordered the Pitocin drip to be stopped so that she could perform a Cesarean section.

Despite these medical steps to get Indira ready for the C-section, Ali believed that the baby was ready to come out. When he informed the nurses of his concerns, they went to get Dr. Deutsch, who was reportedly busy with another patient. In the meantime, he repeatedly pressed his wife's call button for assistance but, Ali ultimately ended up delivering his child.

"The patient was obviously very upset. I was very upset," Deutsch said. "I think it was a new nurse, and I think she was nervous about being in the room alone."

Ali added, "The hospital is saying, 'Sorry,' but I just feel it's wrong. It's a hospital. There are supposed to be nurses and midwives. A nurse should be there with you."

Both mother and newborn, Aaliyah, are healthy.
