Women prefer food to sex- even in France. New research reveals that stereotypical Franco "sex kittens," renowned for their effortlessly stylish, slim and graceful selves, prefer a gourmet meal to passionate lovemaking.

While these European sirens are known for maintaining their figures, a new survey revealed that French ladies favor extravagant meals over sex.

The survey revealed that the average French woman rated eating as 7.1 out of 10 in the pleasure scale. However, sex was only rated as 6.7.

According to experts, these findings are not surprising. Sexpert Gerard Lele told Stylist magazine that "culinary" and sexual orgasms are similar when it comes to neuroscience.

"Chemically, the same thing happens in the brain during a 'culinary orgasm' and a sexual orgasm," Lele said. "In fact, when we are sad and we decide to eat chocolate, we are actually masturbating the hypothalamus."

"Apparently Gallic lasses would rather savor some beef or bouillabaisse than enjoy an evening dans la boudoir...perhaps they're having really crepe sex?!

'I'd be intrigued to know what time of day this survey was conducted; even those of us with off-the-scale sexual appetites and highly compatible, skilled partners might be tempted to rate food as more pleasurable than intimacy if asked just before lunch, when our stomachs are growling more loudly than our libidos," said Sexpert Alix Fox of Durex RealFeel, according to the Daily Mail.

"Perhaps some of these women find posh food more of an enjoyable indulgence than sex because the former is entirely about self-satisfaction - you choose what to eat based entirely on your own whims and tastes, whereas with sex you have to consider the desires and needs of your partner too," Fox said.

"Of course, sex and food have long been linked, with all manner of edibles being touted as supposed aphrodisiacs, from cobra meat in Asia to roasted giant ants in South America," he concluded.
