Xbox One E3 Surprise Update: New VR Game Available In Console Soon?

E3 is fast approaching and rumors have it that Sony and Xbox may have something in store, including a possible VR game. Both Sony and Xbox are tied up to a possible new Xbox One game console but those expectations were taken up a notch with the injection of a third member tagged as a “well-known European studio.

Word of such comes from Ars Technica who broke the ice on the inclusion of the alleged major game developer. They claim that this has something to do with a new virtual reality game which may come out in 2017.

The group got word of the planned VR game and such was even confirmed by a representative of the mystery company. There is no word on who the company could be though they are believed to be a clan holding an established and long-running franchise in the gaming sector.

The soon-to-be-announced VR game will not solely be for the Xbox One. There will be versions for other gaming platforms such as the PlayStation 4 and the PC.

The problem is that there is no official word yet on whether the said VR game will be revealed publicly or behind closed doors. Seeing as well that the current generation of Xbox One’s don’t have VR support, the understanding right now is that the yet-to-be revealed game will be made for the next Xbox One variant.

The game will be among the curious presenters at the E3 which kicks off at the Los Angeles Convention Center this June 14 to 17.

If such is the case, the game may likely be the first game to look forward to following rumors that the Xbox One will come with support for the Oculus Rift.

Though both Microsoft and Oculus have collaborated to offer a bundled pack, there is a chance that the VR game could also pave the way for another Microsoft product, the HoloLens.

Regardless, the focus right now is how powerful the next Xbox One will be considering the current console and the PS4 were classified as having ‘too limited’ according to Oculus Rift creator Palmer Luckey back in 2013.

With a new VR game and a possible unveiling of the next Xbox One installment, things are certainly heating up on the new gaming-related stuff coming out in a few weeks so stay tuned!
